Printmaking

I have worked with various forms of printmaking, including: etching, monotype, and woodblock. I enjoy each of these processes for different reasons. I enjoy etching for its attention to detail as I create a single image by the use of individual lines. Woodblock gives me an opportunity to make repetitive shapes by carving, which gives me a feeling similiar to meditation. Monotype allows me to be spontaneous, choosing different colors and shapes that are loosely based on realistic objects and scenes, as I work.
